Synchronized Skating Coaches

Katrina Abou Rjeily |
Star 6 Katrina is a Regional trained coach and has been coaching since 2021. She joined ESSC in 2010 and continues to skate on the Adult 1 team. Outside of skating, Katrina is a university student studying to become an elementary teacher.

Marie Abou Rjeily |
Star 8 Marie is a Provincial Trained Coach and has been coaching since 2019. She joined our coaching team in 2022 and has skated on a variety of ESSC's teams. Outside of synchro, Marie is a graduate student pursuing a Master's of Public Health at the University of Alberta and has a BA in Psychology and Political Science. |

Courtney Mielnichuk |
Gold
Courtney is a Provincial Trained NCCP coach and has been a part of ESSC's coaching team since 2018. She has over twenty five years of synchro experience and has represented Alberta and ESSC at both the Intermediate and Open levels. Courtney is extremely dedicated to synchronized skating and is invested in the development and success of our skaters and teams. Outside of the arena, she completed her PhD in Astroparticle Physics at the University of Alberta and has her B.Ed degree specializing in Secondary Education. |

Alyssa Sherwin
|
Adult 1 Alyssa is a NCCP Provincial trained coach. With over 30 years of experience in synchronized skating, Alyssa has competed at the local, national, and international levels. For the past 15 years, Alyssa has been a member of our coaching team, most often with our Star 6 and Star 8 teams. Off the ice Alyssa works as a Physical Therapist at the Grey Nuns Hospital, having received her degree from the University of Alberta. |
Assistant Synchronized Skating Coaches & Program Assistants

Abby Johnston |
Abby is an NCCP Regional trained coach, and is excited to be an assistant coach of the Star 8 team this season. She has twelve years of synchro experience as an athlete, representing both the Edmonton and Calgary Synchronized Skating Clubs. She has competed in four National Synchronized Skating Championships, at the Open, Senior, and Elite 12 levels. She is also a 2024 Skate Canada Cup National Silver medalist. Outside of the arena, Abby is a third year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student at the University of Alberta, and is also working in pediatric oncology at the Stollery Children's Hospital.

Keltie Caswell |
Keltie has been a program assistant with ESSC for the past 4 seasons alongside Alyssa. She has over 20 years experience in synchronized skating while competing at a local, national, and international levels. Outside of the arena, she has her B.Ed in Elementary Education and has been teaching for 15 years.

Morgan Stang |
Morgan is an assistant coach for the Gold team this season after a successful season with the Gold and Adult 1 teams last season. She previously competed at the national and international levels with Nexxice Senior, representing Canada at the World Synchronized Skating Championships. |
